Welsh snack brand Wild Trail today announced the launch of its new Carrot Cake snack bar.  The tasty fruit, vegetable and nut bar is the fourth bar in the range and continues Wild Trail’s trend of using just five simple ingredients to create natural, balanced but indulgent-tasting snacks.

Wild Trail is based in Tywyn, Gwynedd and has offices in Monmouth. Its bars are designed to appeal to consumers looking for clean label, free-from and natural products to snack on-the-go and those with active lifestyles looking for a natural source of energy and sustenance.

The new ‘five-ingredient’ Carrot Cake bar is the first in the range to use cashews rather than peanuts and is also the first Wild Trail bar to feature a vegetable ingredient (100% dried carrot).  These ingredients are mixed with raisins, gluten free oats and ground cinnamon to create a delicious and filling snack that is gluten and dairy free, high in fibre, vegetarian, vegan and with no added sugar.

The new Carrot Cake flavour is available on wildtrail.co.uk from today and will also be added into the wholefood section in selected Tesco stores across the UK from 25 September.  The new bars will also filter into a wide variety of outlets across grocery retail and independents.  Wild Trail will also showcase its bars at the Gwledd Conwy Feast Food Festival in October.

Robin Williams, Wild Trail CEO, said: “We recognise that people want free-from and more natural-tasting snacks, with easy-to-understand ingredients, without having to compromise on taste and texture. Whether you’re off on a hike, jumping on a bike or simply want a healthier snack at your desk, our bars are for you.  Our new Carrot Cake bar continues to raise the standard of snacking and we’re proud to have made such a delicious product from only five natural ingredients.”

Wild Trail’s bars are inspired by Snowdonia’s Craig yr Aderyn (Bird Rock) and are based on traditional trail mix recipes.  The brand aims to create snacks for SIMPLE. OUTDOOR. ENERGY. and encourages people to get outdoors, get active and explore their own wild trail… wherever or whatever that may be.

Wild Trail has partnered with a number of sports and outdoors events in Wales in 2017 including triathlon, mountain biking, swimming, running and orienteering.  This activity is set to continue into 2018 with the brand having already confirmation the renewal of its partnership with the Royal Welsh Trail Running Festival.
